to enquire about UK pet-friendly holiday cottages.
A large selection of holiday cottages that allow pets to stay in the property can be found throughout the UK. Many properties have pet friendly features such as cat flaps, or gated gardens,
to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Some cottages understandably have restrictions, such as keeping dogs on a lead when the lambing is happening.
These fantastic properties give you flexibility and freedom and most importantly keep the family together! Not many hotels are pet friendly - without 'welcoming dogs or cats to a kennel', but holiday houses allow you to give your pet the best of all home from home accommodation.
Restrictions on pets in vacation properties;
'Pet friendly' and 'Pets welcome' does not have an exact standard in UK holiday accommodation terms, except that it means that pets are allowed and welcomed to the property -
common sense is generally applied, and most owners don't allow dogs and cats to go on the furniture, or into the bedrooms. If your pets have specific needs, it is best to ask specific questions such as:
Our dogs sleep outside in a heated kennel at home, do you provide this facility?
My dog sleeps at he end of my bed at home, he has short hair, so won't make a mess - is that o.k while renting this holiday house?
Our dog loves to sleep by the log fire - but often ends up very close to it - is there a fire guard to put around at night?
Our dog chases sheep - is there a farm close by?
Please can you leave details of how to locate a vet in case of emergency?
Are there detailed walks for dogs in the holiday cottage?
On booking, view pet restrictions - if any apply, request further information from the house owner/ property agent handling the rental accommodation.
